WHDR is a volunteer-powered, foster based organization and our greatest asset is our volunteers! Our ability to save more dogs depends on our volunteers. Volunteers help by checking on dogs in shelters, transporting dogs from shelters and owner surrenders to WHDR or forever homes, taking dogs to the vet, performing home visits, attending meet and greets, spreading the word and more! Foster
Fostering is a very rewarding experience and by taking in a dog temporarily in your home, you are helping it get ready for adoption. You are also freeing up a spot in the shelter or rescue so they can help another dog. Most importantly you are socializing the dog and getting to know him or her better, making finding the right home easier!

Many dogs come to us needing extensive medical care and the adoption fee does not cover the cost to bring a dog to health so they can live a full and happy life. It is with the generous support from friends, volunteers, donors, sponsors and just about anyone who believes in our cause. that we can continue to help Dalmatians and friends in need.
