In Memory of our sweet Luck Diggity Dog. We know now you are free of pain

In Loving Memory of Buster- WHDR

Dear Sweet Pepper Ann how I miss you, not a day goes by that I don't think of you, how could people be so cruel, to love you, then dump you like yesterday's newspaper, shame on them, shame on them all. But I'll never forget you my sweet little Peppie Annie, the hugs I gave you, the apples you loved so much, your soft fur, all these memories are in my heart and will be forever. Love, Jodi - PEPPER ANN 1986-2001.

Most all of you have met him and many of you knew him well. Some have just heard the many stories in the legend of Satch. He came from within a gnat's eyelash of going back to where he was rescued from to being my main-dog and purveyor of many tricks including catching footballs in his mouth (which amazed many people) and opening the sliding glass door (which amazed the other dogs). Thus he became "The Amazing" Satch. To those of you from whom he has begged and stolen food, he wishes to thank for your generosity and naievity. To those of you with whom he played ball or frisbee with in the back yard, he wishes to thank for your time. To those of you who loved him, he wants you to know he loved you all back. To those of you who took care of him while I was away, he wants to thank you for putting more food in the bowl than his dad usually did. To those of you who fed him peaches, pears and tomatoes, he wants you to know he died with warm feelings for you in his heart. To those of you who visited him on the web at ruf-ruf.com, he hopes you enjoyed his story and picture.

Daniel was the sweetest dog.....never met another animal he did not like, loved everyone, including small babies. He is the brightest star in the sky tonight.
He died knowing human love, caring and kindness (something his former owners obviously never gave him). Thank you for knowing that he was worth saving and giving him the respect and dignity he deserved. Dogs like the Commish are what *rescue* is all about. ~ WHDR

In rescue we meet lots of dals and they are all special in their own way - every one. But there are some that touch you deeply, and Pennie was one of those. She was a tiny little girl who was treated horribly the first year of her life, and this affected the rest of her very short life. We loved her so very much and not a day goes by when we do not think of her. We tried to turn her life around but it was not meant to be. If love could make them whole again, then Pennie would have become the perfect dal, as we loved her so very much. The angels carried her lovingly and gently to the bridge and I pray that she is looking down on us now with love in her heart and anxious for the day when we will be together again.

Pennie - you are with us always.

Mr. Ross
Ross was rescued by WHDR from a Pennsylvania puppymill where he was a stud for years. He lived in filth and hopelessness there. He was malnourished, debarked and without hope. Even though senior dogs have just as much love to offer, it appeared that a forever family would take a while to find so Ross was put into foster care.

There, he learned to play well with other dogs and to have treats.
There, he learned to be warm and cozy in his bed and to have treats.
There, he learned what toys are for and to have treats.
There he learned that his health and emotional needs would be taken care of and lavished on him and to have treats.
There he learned that his sweatshirt would keep him warm when he had to go outside and to have treats.
There he learned to smile and to have treats.
There he learned to trust.
There he learned to be loved and to love back.
We all miss you, Mr. Ross, be happy and whole at the Bridge.

Baron is flying free in happiness now just like Snoopy the Red Baron!
Ziggy, the best present Black Mike ever had. Together again.

We rescued a battered Dal named Peanut from Luzerne Co three years ago. He had been kicked and beaten so badly his injuries required surgery. He had a fractured eye socket..broken leg and various other injuries. We had him in foster for a short time when a wonderful family came forward wanting to adopt him. They Called him Bingo and nursed him back to health, trained him and loved him dearly.

Daisy may have been a senior when she came into my life, but the love she gave to me during that time far surpassed the care I gave to her. I will miss her, but she is running free and without pain at the bridge, waiting for the day we will meet again.
"To my sweet Lacy - she is driving that diesel-powered, mobile dog bed in the sky - and loving it!"

Milo was a rare creature, so gentle and good hearted. He never would play with any of the toys that squeaked - I think he thought he was hurting them. When his thoughtless sisters would carry toys outside and leave them, I could always count on Milo to rescue them. I'd ask him to go get the "baby" and he knew just what I wanted. He would run right out to it and nudge the toy until he found a spot he could pick up with the tips of his front teeth (he didn't want it to squeak) and he'd dash up the deck steps to the kitchen. He would immediately drop the toy there on the kitchen floor as if it was burning his lips. He never attempted to play with it. He loved stuffed toys only if they didn't squeak and he loved to eat my shoes. He came to live with me as a foster just when I least wanted another dog. But, he was a blessing and I am so lucky to have been given the opportunity to know him. His devotion was absolute. He stole my heart and I will miss him dearly as will his sister Mellie and his "adopted" sister Dotty. Our lives were truly touched by an angel.

I Loved You Best So this is where we part, My Friend,
and you'll run on, around the bend,
gone from sight, but not from mind,
new pleasures there you'll surely find.

I will go on, I'll find the strength,
life measures quality, not its length.

One long embrace before you leave,
share one last look, before I grieve.

There are others, that much is true,
but they be they, and they aren't you.

And I, fair, impartial, or so I thought,
will remember well all you've taught.

Your place I'll hold, you will be missed,
the fur I stroked, the nose I kissed.

And as you journey to your final rest,
take with you this...I loved you best.
